Are you passionate about making a difference in the lives of children and young people with autism? GSL Education are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Autism Support Worker to join a supportive school environment in Dorchester, starting from January 2026.
About the Role:
As an Autism Support Worker, you will provide tailored support to students with autism, helping them to access the curriculum, develop social skills, and thrive in a structured and nurturing setting. This is a rewarding opportunity to contribute to the personal and academic growth of young learners.
Key Responsibilities:
* Support students with autism in both classroom and one-to-one settings.
* Assist teachers in adapting learning materials and activities to meet individual needs.
* Promote positive behaviour and emotional wellbeing.
* Foster a safe, inclusive, and encouraging learning environment.
* Monitor and report on student progress and challenges to teaching staff.
Candidate Requirements:
* Experience working with children or young people with autism or additional needs is highly desirable.
* Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
* A calm, patient, and empathetic approach to support.
* Relevant qualifications or training in SEN or autism support are advantageous but not essential.
To work with GSL Education as an Autism Support Worker, you should:
* Have the right to work in the UK.
* Have an up-to-date CV with two relevant references from within the last 2 years.
* Have a DBS registered to the update service or be happy to apply for one with GSL Education.
