The purpose of the Equity & Inclusion Education Outreach Service is to provide bespoke support to identified learners to improve their school attendance, engagement, attainment, and achievement. The Equity & Inclusion Outreach Service works with learners on a short-term basis to support them to take full advantage of opportunities in school. The Education Outreach Officers will also work in partnership with families to promote positive home-school links and will be assigned on a needs basis rather than geographical and will be expected to work across East Lothian.
In line with GIRFEC principles, the Education Outreach Officers will work closely with school colleagues, including learners’ Named Education Contacts (NEC) and other agencies as part of the ‘team around the child’ to provide early and effective support to ensure that all learners meet their full potential. The service will be led by a Depute Head Teacher for Equity & Inclusion.
Internal candidates can apply for this post on a secondment basis but must seek permission from your line manager before doing so.
Interviews are to take place on Friday 28th November.
