Job Summary
Are you a self‑motivated individual looking to expand your experience as a senior pharmacy technician in an operational setting? An opportunity has arisen to join our small and friendly Homecare team at Beckenham Beacon.
Location: Beckenham Beacon, 379 Croydon Rd, Beckenham, BR3 3QL.
Key Responsibilities
* Support the delivery, governance and ongoing development of the Trust’s homecare medicines service.
* Ensure medicines are supplied safely and efficiently to patients via approved external home‑care providers.
* Maintain robust administrative processes, monitor provider performance and resolve service issues.
* Ensure adherence to national home‑care standards and Trust policies.
* Lead audits, KPI reporting, service review meetings and implement new and existing home‑care pathways.
* Line‑manage home‑care technical and administrative staff, including recruitment, training, appraisal and performance management.
* Act as an Accredited Accuracy Checker and support the development of SOPs.
* Provide operational support to inpatient pharmacy services and deputise for the Chief Home‑Care Technician when required.
Qualifications
* NVQ Level 3 Pharmacy Services with underpinning knowledge from a BTEC Certificate in Pharmaceutical Sciences or an equivalent recognised Pharmacy Technician qualification meeting GPhC registration requirements.
* Accredited Checking Pharmacy Technician qualification.
* Supervisory/leadership qualification or equivalent experience.
Experience
* Significant experience relevant to hospital pharmacy practice with assessed competencies.
* Experience supervising and leading staff.
* Experience working with multidisciplinary teams.
* Experience of quality, audit or service improvement activities.
* Desirable: Experience/knowledge of home‑care processes.
Skills
* Excellent verbal, written and interpersonal communication skills.
* Strong IT skills, including proficient use of Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
