We are seeking an experienced Azure / DevOps Engineer to join our Operations team, reporting into the Head of Technical Operations.
You’ll play a key role in supporting, improving, and scaling a 24/7 Azure SaaS platform, working on live, customer-facing systems in a regulated healthcare environment.
This is a hands-on technical all-rounder role — equally comfortable automating infrastructure using GitOps, troubleshooting databases, improving platform resilience, and supporting internal IT systems.
Key Responsibilities for the DevOps Engineer
* Support and maintain a large-scale, 24/7 Azure SaaS platform
* Troubleshoot, debug, and resolve platform, infrastructure, and database issues
* Design and implement improvements to systems, processes, and tooling
* Automate manual operational tasks using Infrastructure as Code
* Work closely with the Head of Technical Operations and wider business teams
* Create and maintain technical and operational documentation
* Perform routine Windows and Linux OS patching
* Monitor platform health and respond to incidents as required
* Keep up to date with emerging technologies and best practices
* Participate in a flexible shift pattern supporting service hours between 08:00 – 20:00
Technical Skills & Experience required from the Azure, DevOps Engineer
Essential:
* Strong experience with Azure DevOps and Azure infrastructure
* Windows Server and Linux administration
* T-SQL / Microsoft SQL Server
* Solid understanding of network and security principles
* Infrastructure-as-Code and automation ( Terraform, Ansible, Puppet, Chef)
* Scripting experience (PowerShell or similar)
* Git version control
* Experience working on live, customer-facing production systems
Desirable:
* Containers and orchestration (ideally Kubernetes)
* Reverse proxies ( HAProxy)
* TLS / SSL certificate management
* Logging and monitoring tools (ELK stack, Grafana, Zabbix, Wazuh, etc.)
* Experience in regulated or security-conscious environments
Qualifications needed:
* Degree in Computer Science, IT, or a related discipline
* 2+ years’ commercial experience in a relevant technical role
* UK-based with the right to work in the UK
