Location: Monmouthshire, Wales
Start Date: October 2025
Hours: 8:30am – 3:30pm (Monday to Friday, term time)
Pay Rate: £83.85 – £100 per day

Teaching Personnel are recruiting for a Behaviour Mentor in Monmouthshire to support pupils with Additional Learning Needs (ALN) and challenging behaviour in a secondary school setting (ages 11–16).
This rewarding role involves providing both 1:1 support and small group interventions, helping students overcome barriers to learning while building strong, positive relationships.

Key Responsibilities:
* Support pupils with behavioural, emotional, and social needs.
* Deliver tailored sports-based interventions to engage and motivate learners.
* Help pupils develop essential social and communication skills.
* Promote positive behaviour management strategies in line with school policies.
* Work closely with teachers and other support staff to ensure consistent support.

Candidate Qualities:
* Reliable, flexible, and adaptable – able to take on roles at short notice.
* Confident and approachable, with strong interpersonal skills.
* Experience working with young people with SEN/ALN or challenging behaviour.
* Enthusiasm to support pupils who require additional time and patience to progress.
* Strong behaviour management skills.
* Sporting background (coaching experience or qualifications desirable).

Essential Requirements:
* Enhanced DBS check (on the Update Service) or willingness to apply.
* EWC registration (or willingness to register).
* Ability to provide two recent references.
* Legal Right to Work in the UK.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
