HR Professional | Talent Specialist - Executive Search, Sustainability, Transformation & Communities — Head of Governance and Compliance
Contract - Permanent • Salary - Competitive • Location - London
As Head of Governance and Compliance, you’ll lead the delivery of governance and company secretarial services across the Peabody Group. You’ll work closely with non-executive board and committee members, senior leaders and colleagues to ensure governance is effective, compliant, and future-ready. You’ll oversee the Governance and Compliance team, building a culture of excellence while driving improvements in systems, processes, and compliance. Acting as deputy to the Director of Governance and Compliance, you’ll also support the Group Secretary on complex matters, making a direct impact on how we deliver good governance across the organisation.
Responsibilities
* Lead the delivery of governance and company secretarial services across the Peabody Group.
* Oversee the Governance and Compliance team and drive improvements in systems, processes, and compliance.
* Act as deputy to the Director of Governance and Compliance and support the Group Secretary on complex governance matters.
* Collaborate with non-executive board and committee members, senior leaders, and colleagues to ensure governance is effective and compliant.
What you'll need
* Qualified or part-qualified company secretary, or equivalent qualification, and/or demonstrable relevant experience within the housing sector.
* Strong, up-to-date knowledge of the legal, regulatory, and policy frameworks in which housing associations operate.
* Proven management experience in building a high-performing team with credibility, drive, and ambition to make a difference.
* Experience in supporting Boards and Executives with governance and compliance responsibilities under legal and regulatory requirements.
You’ll need to be in the office for a minimum of 2 days per week.
