About the Role
As Head of English, you will be responsible for:
* Leading and managing the English department across KS3–KS4
* Driving high‑quality teaching and learning to raise attainment across the subject
* Supporting, coaching and developing colleagues to deliver engaging and inclusive lessons
* Tracking progress, analysing assessment data and implementing effective interventions
* Overseeing curriculum development and ensuring consistently strong classroom practice
* Building strong working relationships with students, staff, families and external partners

Head of English Requirements
* Qualified Teacher Status (QTS)
* Strong subject knowledge in English
* A proven track record of improving student outcomes
* Leadership experience preferred (formal or informal)

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
