About the Opportunity
Nuclear Power Programmes are delivering critical works for major UK and European projects. Our embedded teams support Hinkley Point C (a new build power station in the South West), Sizewell C (located in the South East), develop SMR (Small Modular Reactor) technologies, and work towards building Poland's first nuclear power station.
We are currently seeking a Planning Manager to work within the Central Controls Teams as part of the Project Controls Planning Discipline. Reporting to the IPC Planning Manager, you will manage the Level 2/4 (client) Integrated Work Schedule (IWS) in accordance with HPC processes, including aligning Level 3 (contract) schedules and providing time-related data and analysis. You will support the IPC Planning Manager in leading central planning activities, developing standards, policies, and strategies to facilitate the efficient and timely delivery of work.
Role Responsibilities:
1. Support the IPC Lead Planner in implementing and maintaining Project Controls processes for Planning.
2. Assist Senior Project/Programme Managers by producing monthly reports with insightful information and analysis.
3. Collaborate with other disciplines within Project Controls and support functions to achieve project goals aligned with HPC principles of Trust, Transparency, and Teamwork.
4. Develop and maintain the schedule baseline IWS in Primavera P6, ensuring fully logic-linked work plans aligned with the Work Breakdown Structure and construction techniques.
5. Keep the Level 2/4 IWS updated within the agreed timeframe.
6. Support Trend & Change processes, analyze project performance, generate indicators, and identify risks and opportunities.
7. Identify, analyze, and propose solutions to schedule-related issues.
8. Coordinate and produce project schedule reports, including commentary on key drivers and performance issues.
9. Adhere to project governance and scheduling standards and procedures.
10. Ensure all project documents, especially Sensitive Nuclear Information, are correctly marked and protected according to EDF policies.
Qualifications and Experience:
1. A degree in Engineering, Construction, or a related field, or HND/equivalent with recognized experience.
2. Chartered or equivalent professional qualification.
3. Proven experience in project management or controls within a major construction project, specifically in scheduling.
4. Extensive experience with scheduling software, preferably Primavera P6 (version 7 or above).
5. Experience with commercial contracting.
