About the role
You will be responsible for leading, managing and motivating a team responsible for the administrative duties associated with the Electrical Testing and Compliance Programme. The team will include 17 operatives and 9 apprentices all of which will be attending to Housing Properties throughout the city carrying out any necessary works and subsequent electrical testing. The team will also engage an electrical contractor to carry out testing throughout the City. You will have excellent customer service skills and an understanding of the needs of our diverse staff and customers and be able to tailor delivery accordingly to the highest standard and most efficient timescales.
Key responsibilities of the role (along with other duties detailed in the job description) will be:
* Keeping accurate records of compliance levels.
* Setting targets and monitoring and maintaining performance of planners working within the team.
* Scheduling work for electricians/supervisors using our works management system.
* Contacting residents to arrange appointments to carry out works required. Including arranging large scale mailing. Coordinating phone answering and booking works and inspections.
* Processing work orders for both directly employed electricians and our electrical contractor.
* Liaising with other teams to collect electrical certification and uploading to our database.
* Communicating with contractors and processing payments and updating records.
* Extensive works with Excel including producing accurate statistics.
* Leading on no access procedures, keeping accurate records that may be called upon when cases reach final stages.

Additional information
Your starting salary will be pro rata if the above position is term-time only. For part time applicants, where your working week is less than the council’s basic 37 hour week, contracted overtime rated pay will not form part of your working hours. This is because overtime rated pay is payable for hours worked in excess of the council’s basic 37 hour week. Your starting salary will be pro rata based on the basic annual salary elements of pay between £26,873& £28,770.
