Purpose of Role
I am a 47-year-old male living in Otley. I have advanced Primary Progressive MS and require extensive support within the home and when I go out. I enjoy going to different places and would like to stay as active as possible. I am looking for a 2nd PA to support me with all aspects of my life to enable me to remain as independent as possible and stay in my own home.
My P. A. Must be committed and reliable. Must be able to cook / prepare meals and be comfortable with feeding and leaving the kitchen area clean & tidy. Must be proactive and able to use initiative. Ideally, my PA will actively suggest and encourage me to try things and support me with all aspects of personal care, have a good sense of humour, provide companionship and help me regain my confidence away from home. Be comfortable with administering hydration flush via PEG. Empty my leg bag as and when required. Support and remain with me when attending medical appointments. Help me to be more involved with home life (e.g. organise shopping) and assist with personal needs/errands (e.g. haircut, dentist, or a coffee/pint away from home environment). Change bedding & wash towels and clothing as required. Be comfortable with using dishwasher, washing machine, and tumble dryer. Complete a daily timesheet & check diary for any communication from morning PA. Prepare and give a snack mid-afternoon and an evening meal.
