Transport Manager

Transport Manager Role:
As Transport Manager, you'll be responsible for managing all aspects of transport and delivery operations. Youll ensure compliance, drive performance, and lead a team of drivers to deliver excellent service in a time-critical environment.
Key Responsibilities Oversee daily transport operations across a fast-moving fleet
Plan and optimise delivery routes for maximum efficiency
Manage a team of drivers training and performance
Assist the Transport Logistics Manager in preparing detail for monthly reports
Ensure that the daily plans and working hours of the crews are analysed to facilitate optimal performance
Ensure full compliance with DVSA and other regulatory requirements
Monitor vehicle maintenance schedules, insurance, and fuel usage
Drive a culture of safety, accountability, and continuous improvement
Ensure investigations into accidents and incidents are completed effectively and there is a follow up on corrective action with communication to the wider team
Ensure consistent communications across the team and develop and maintain relationships with other departments
Proactively ensure people management issues are identified and effectively dealt with
What Were Looking For Proven experience in a transport/logistics manager role ideally in FMCG or alcohol distribution
Strong knowledge of transport compliance and vehicle regulations
Excellent leadership and team management skills
Ability to work under pressure and adapt quickly in a high-volume environment
Tech-savvy, with experience using transport planning or fleet management software
CPC (Certificate of Professional Competence) holder desirable
