Overview
You will work within the Speech and Language Therapy (SLT) special schools team, supporting children and young people with a range of complex needs including learning difficulties. The role involves working with the SLTs to deliver interventions to develop children and young people's language and communication skills and supporting the schools to embed good universal and targeted practice within their setting. In addition, the post holder will also be required to support with making some therapy materials and supporting Augmentative and Alternative Communication Systems (AAC).
Responsibilities
* Work with SLTs to deliver interventions to develop language and communication skills of children and young people with complex needs.
* Support schools to embed universal and targeted practice in the setting.
* Support creation of therapy materials and support for Augmentative and Alternative Communication Systems (AAC).
* Engage with supervision and line management, as well as peer group supervision.
* Collaborate with school staff and families to understand and support the language and communication needs of the children and young people attending the schools.
