Start Date: Late August 2025 (Training Week)
Applications Open: July 2025
Location: Hybrid – Remote with occasional in-person meetings
Hours: Approx. 8 hrs/week (flexible, with potential for growth)

Are you an organised, creative thinker with a passion for music and youth arts? Want to make a real impact in Scotland’s public arts sector?

The Soundsystem Project—a youth-led, publicly funded music initiative—is seeking a part-time Operations Manager. This is an excellent opportunity for someone looking to build a career in public arts, arts education, or creative project management. You'll help bring music workshops to life for young people across Scotland.

About the Role
We're growing and looking for someone to support our expanding work. Starting with defined responsibilities, this role has room to develop over time.

You'll work closely with Company Directors to coordinate workshop delivery, liaise with tutors and schools, manage logistics, and support funding and reporting processes.

Key Responsibilities:

Schedule workshops and gather tutor availability
Create timetables; liaise with schools and partners
Book travel and accommodation (incl. ferries/trains)
Coordinate tutor teams (email/WhatsApp)
Share social media content (Instagram, Facebook)
Collect feedback from parents, tutors, and partners
Support funding applications and liaise with Creative Scotland
Compile evaluations and assist in writing reports
Who We’re Looking For
We want someone organised, motivated, and independent. You don’t need to be a musician, but a belief in youth-led arts is essential.

You’ll thrive if you:

Have experience in arts admin or project coordination
Understand Scotland’s public arts sector
Can write or are keen to learn how to write funding applications
Are confident with digital tools (social media, email, calendars)
Enjoy working flexibly with small, collaborative teams
Are passionate about accessible youth arts
This is a fulfilling, flexible role within a dynamic youth-led project. You’ll gain hands-on experience in cultural project management—while helping young people unlock their creativity through music.

Deadline: 25 July 2025
Interviews: 6 & 7 August 2025
Training Begins: Late August 2025

Location: Argyll and Bute, Dumfries and Galloway, Edinburgh City, Glasgow City, Highland, North Ayrshire, Renfrewshire

The deadline is Friday 25 July 2025 at 17:00.
