Summary
Family Service League is seeking a full-time Activities Coordinator for a homeless shelter in Huntington. The Activities Coordinator will be responsible for planning, organizing, and coordinating shelter recreation programs. The role also involves assisting with case management as needed.

Responsibilities
* Develop, plan, organize, implement, and evaluate a variety of recreation programs, including special events.
* Establish schedules and methods for providing recreation services; identify resource needs; review needs with management; allocate resources accordingly.
* Participate in developing program goals, objectives, policies, and procedures.
* Recommend changes and improvements to existing standards, policies, and procedures.
* Implement approved policies and procedures.
* Monitor activities to ensure policy compliance.
* Identify shelter recreation needs and recommend appropriate programs.
* Conduct and supervise special events; develop contracts and hire instructors.
* Prepare purchase requisitions for supplies and materials.
* Respond to complaints and information requests.
* Attend professional meetings; stay updated on trends; incorporate new developments into programs.
* Manage donations and the donation closet.
* Transport clients to events using the agency vehicle.
* Perform all other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
High School Diploma or equivalent required; Associate’s or Bachelor's degree preferred. One year of human services experience is preferred but not required. Prior experience with the homeless population is a plus. Proficiency in Microsoft Office is required. Excellent interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills are essential. A valid and clean NYS Driver’s License is required. Flexibility to work some evenings and weekends as needed.
Physical Requirements
This position involves sitting and standing for long periods and moderate lifting.
Compensation
Annual salary: $43,000
