Role Overview
We are seeking to employ a SENDCO to drive high standards of inclusive excellence across our school. You will provide expert leadership for SEND provision, support and advice for staff across the school and you will teach children in the Lighthouse (inclusion) unit.
Key Responsibilities
* Provide expert leadership for SEND provision.
* Support and advise staff across the school.
* Teach children in the Lighthouse (inclusion) unit.
* Develop and implement behaviour management techniques for groups and individuals with SEND.
* Co‑ordinate provision for children with SEND.
Qualifications & Aptitude
* Highly skilled teacher with drive and aspiration for all.
* Reflective and balances high expectations with empathy.
* Good understanding of the SEND Code of Practice and the graduated approach.
* Resilience, emotional intelligence and calmness in challenging situations.
* Degree in a relevant subject.
* QTS.
* Willingness to complete or working towards NPQ SENCO qualification.
* Relevant safeguarding and child protection training undertaken and willingness to update training regularly.
Essential Experience
* Experience of working with pupils with SEND and pupils with emotional and behavioural difficulties.
* Experience working alongside SLT to develop the quality of the curriculum and learning activities.
* Experience of behaviour management techniques for groups and individuals with SEND.
* Experience working effectively with colleagues to improve classroom practice.
