Overview
We are seeking a dedicated Acute Medicine Consultant to join our established team at the Royal Cornwall Hospitals Trust. The role will support a high quality, sustainable service and encourage work‑life balance. The position is a permanent consultant post and will take place across our three main sites – Royal Cornwall Hospital Truro, St Michael’s Hospital Hayle, and West Cornwall Hospital Penzance.
Key Responsibilities
* Provide acute medical care for in‑patients and across the local community.
* Develop and implement new models of care to improve patient outcomes.
* Engage in teaching and training as part of the University of Exeter Medical School.
* Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams and external partners (e.g., NHS Kernow, NHS England) to meet local healthcare needs.
* Support and mentor junior staff, including specialty doctors.
Qualifications
* Registered on the GMC Specialist Register or within six months of the expected date of receipt of a CCT or an EU equivalent certification.
* Experience in Acute Medicine or a related specialty is essential.
* Demonstrated commitment to quality patient care and continuous professional development.
* Eligible for an AAC panel interview.
