Role Summary
The post holder will be part of a team of doctors including one FY2, 2 specialty doctors, and five consultants. There are five clinical nurse specialists and two support nurses.
The post holder will work in Urology over a six-month period. Responsibilities include inpatient care in the ward, supporting foundation doctors, and participating in daytime rota for urology.
The post holder is expected to assess and manage acute patients with support from specialty doctors and consultants. Participation in elective activities such as outpatient clinics, endoscopy, day surgery, and inpatient theatre is strongly encouraged.
There are monthly department and education/clinical governance meetings in urology, which the post holder is expected to attend and contribute to.

We are seeking one post at core surgical training level one/two to work in surgical specialties at our friendly and supportive District General Hospital. The available post is within Urology, starting as soon as possible for a fixed term of months.
Both the Trust and the Departments are committed to personal and professional development. We encourage and support all doctors (locum or substantive) to gain required competencies and offer advice on portfolio preparation, which can support applications to further Specialty Training.
Appropriate clinical supervision, training, and support will be provided. The department is familiar with the full range of trainees and portfolios. Our Medical Education Department is available to offer support.
Applicants must hold a GMC-recognized medical degree, have full GMC registration, and a license to practice. They should demonstrate the ability to undertake core clinical and generic skills required at the end of Foundation Training, as documented in the FP Curriculum, and be able to communicate effectively in English in a clinical environment.
