Job Purpose
As a Care Coordinator, you will play a key role in ensuring the delivery of high‑quality care services. Working as part of a small team of two Coordinators, you will oversee day‑to‑day care operations, support staff, and help maintain the highest standards of care. You will be instrumental in creating a welcoming, safe, and supportive environment for both residents and staff, while developing your leadership skills for future career progression.
Key Responsibilities
* Take the lead on medication management, ensuring safe administration, compliance, and best practice at all times
* Carry out regular audits to monitor care quality, compliance, and continuous improvement
* Assess and sign off staff competencies, supporting training and ensuring high standards of care delivery
* Supervise and support a team of Care Assistants to deliver outstanding care
* Assist in developing, implementing, and reviewing person‑centred care plans
* Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations
* Provide guidance, mentoring, and support to care staff
* Respond effectively to emergencies and incidents
* Maintain accurate and compliant care records
* Work collaboratively with colleagues, management, and external professionals
* Promote dignity, independence, and choice for all residents
* Lead by example and support the onboarding and development of new staff
Key Requirements
* Proven experience in a care role, preferably in a supervisory or leadership capacity within a care home environment.
* NVQ Level 3 in Health and Social Care or equivalent.
* Medication administration experience.
* A good understanding of care planning, safeguarding, and regulatory requirements.
* Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build positive relationships with residents, families, and staff.
* Strong leadership skills and the ability to motivate and support a team.
* A compassionate, patient, and empathetic approach to care, with a focus on enhancing residents' well‑being.
* Ability to manage time effectively, prioritise tasks, and work under pressure.
* A willingness to participate in continuous professional development (CPD) and training.
Desirable
* Previous experience in a Senior Care Supervisor role.
* First Aid and Fire Warden qualifications.
* Moving and Handling Trainer qualification.
