We are looking for a commercially focused General Manager from the lifting industry to help move our sales and service offering forward in the UK. Based in the Midlands, but travelling throughout the UK, you will have experience in selling capital equipment and maintenance / service contracts to match.
BASIC SALARY: £80,000 - £90,000

LOCATION: A field-based role with the need to be in the office as required, you could be based anywhere within 2 hours of Northampton.

JOB DESCRIPTION: General Manager, Strategic Sales Manager - Industrial, Heavy industrial manufacturing
As our General Manager, you'll be reporting directly to the UK Managing Director and replacing the retiring General Manager who has been in post for circa 30 years. You will oversee a business with a turnover of circa £7m, split into £5m equipment sales and £2m in service revenue, with 5 direct reports and 15 indirect reports around the UK.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
* Lead and develop the UK Sales and Service teams to achieve revenue targets and align with company goals.
* Set sales objectives and strategies, motivate the sales team.
* Oversee leadership elements including coaching, performance management, recruitment, and training for sales and service teams.
* Develop the team of 4 Key Account Managers / National Account Managers.
* Develop the after-sales and service team to maximize revenue.
* Report regularly on sales performance to the Managing Director and wider organization.
* Conduct market analysis to understand competition and economic indicators.
PERSON SPECIFICATION:
* Proven success in sales/people leadership roles, ideally in capital equipment manufacturing.
* Industry experience in Vehicle Maintenance, Heavy Vehicle, Plant, Truck and Bus, Off Highway, Military, Defence, Tram, or Rail sectors.
* Strong presence and experience in driving sales strategies and client management.
* Managed a sales budget of £5-15 million.
* Experience with service offerings alongside capital equipment sales.
