An exciting opportunity has arisen to join our team of Ceremony Officers who work in pairs across the Wakefield district conducting and registering Marriages, Civil Partnerships and other discretionary ceremonies.
When it comes to weddings, Wakefield provides a great choice of venues to couples planning their Big Day! From Town Halls, Hotels, Golf Courses and Museums to Farms, Rugby Clubs and a Brewery, we really do offer something for everyone.
Not only do couples have a large variety of choice in respect of their venue but also about the format of their day. They can opt for a standard legal ceremony or can choose to enhance and tailor a ceremony, so it is unique to them.
You will work alongside a diverse, enthusiastic, and professional team who strive to deliver the best service it can to meet the needs and expectations of our customers.
We are looking for applicants who are passionate about delivering excellent customer service that meets the needs of individuals. You will be self-motivated, able to demonstrate excellent presentation and communication skills with the ability to interpret and apply a legal framework.
Registration experience would be an advantage; however, training will be provided.
The post holder will be appointed to work across the whole district. Ceremonies are seasonal and subject to service demand, which means the number of working days and hours will fluctuate. For details of the working hours, please refer to the Addendum to Contract.
There are certain legal disqualifications for appointment; please read the Job Specification and Disqualifications for Appointment for further information regarding this.
Shortlisted applicants will be invited to assessment; successful candidates at assessment stage will then be invited to formal interview at a later time on the same day.
