About the Role
At Ageas, we put our customers first. When disaster strikes, we know that a property claim isn’t just paperwork—it’s a time of stress, disruption, and uncertainty. That’s why we go beyond processing claims; we care about providing a fair, supportive, and expert-led experience every step of the way.
We’re looking for Senior and experienced Claims Technical Professionals who understand the challenges our customers and teams face when dealing with complex property claims. In this role, you'll ensure that every customer receives the guidance, expertise, and reassurance they need to navigate the claims process smoothly. You will collaborate with specialists, uphold our high standards, and work with integrity to deliver fair resolutions—because at Ageas, doing right by our customers is what matters most.
If you have experience in managing complex property claims and a passion for customer advocacy, we’d love to hear from you. You may be from an adjusting, surveying, or construction background in the insurance industry but tired of long hours, a poor work-life balance, and negligible company benefits. Our award-winning teams, full of great people underpinned by our unique culture, help us stand out from the market.
As such, Ageas Insurance is looking for a Home Claims Technical Expert, who will be an expert in the Ageas Home Claims Department, actively supporting the leadership team with identification of opportunities that enhance the Ageas strategy and delivery in managing complex technical claims.
The Home Claims Technical Expert will ideally have field experience validating and managing claims reinstatement for complex perils such as Escape of Water, Fire, and Subsidence (desired) from an adjusting, surveying, or insurer background. As a Home Technical Expert, you will leverage your excellent technical and stakeholder management skills to drive improvement of Ageas’ home claims performance.
Main Responsibilities as Home Claims Technical Expert:
* Advanced technical claims handling in accordance with policy cover, legal liability, departmental fraud, ABI, and FCA guidelines.
* Provide your customers and colleagues with a consistent high-quality service so they can deliver in line with strategy and Ageas Best Practice.
* Interpret and challenge scopes of work and tenders.
* Be aware of Construction Damage Management, building regulations, and the Party Wall Act.
* Identify and address supplier performance issues case-by-case and drive organic behavioral improvement in conjunction with the Supplier Relationship Managers.
Skills and Experience Needed:
* Member of or working towards CII, CIOB, RICS professional qualifications, or a desire to do so unless you possess exceptional property claims experience.
* Experience handling complex claims in the insurance market.
* Strong building pathology knowledge, including SoRs, tender exercises, and JCT contract experience.
* Good judgment throughout the claims journey and ability to work under pressure.
* Excellent written and verbal communication skills, capable of writing complex letters, reports, and recommendations in line with company standards.
