Healthcare Development Manager – Market Access – Pharmaceuticals

This is a newly created role to support the development and execution of UK market access strategy at both national and regional level. The position plays a key part in ensuring patient access to a growing portfolio of medicines, while supporting commercial decision making across existing and future products.
Reporting into senior UK market access leadership, you will work closely with cross functional colleagues to shape payer strategy, support NHS engagement, and drive successful inclusion within national and regional access frameworks.
Key responsibilities:
* You will support the identification, mapping, and analysis of key UK market access information to inform strategic decision making, including competitor activity, pricing dynamics, and payer landscape insight.
* You will take a leading role in the preparation and submission of product offers into national and regional NHS commissioning and procurement frameworks, working closely with senior stakeholders.
* You will engage appropriately with NHS commissioning and procurement teams throughout the full framework lifecycle, from early engagement through submission, evaluation, and ongoing framework management, building effective long term relationships.
* You will contribute to the development of commercial agreements with private healthcare organisations, supporting access and adoption across non NHS settings where appropriate.
* You will play a key role in product usage forecasting and contribute to internal discussions relating to pricing strategy and access planning.
* You will support the delivery of UK market access plans at national and regional level, working in close collaboration with sales, marketing, operations, regulatory, and analytical colleagues.
* You will ensure accurate completion of associated documentation and internal processes, maintaining high standards of compliance and governance.
Candidate profile:
* You will bring significant experience within UK pharmaceutical market access, with a strong understanding of NHS procurement and commissioning processes.
* You will have proven experience supporting or leading submissions into NHS frameworks and engaging with payer and procurement stakeholders.
* You will demonstrate a strong understanding of UK reimbursement systems, payer decision drivers, and the commercial realities of access.
* You are likely to have supported product launches or portfolio expansion, ideally within complex or specialist therapy areas.
* You will be comfortable operating in a lean, fast moving environment, with the ability to work autonomously while collaborating effectively across functions.
* You will have a strong track record of contributing to commercial success and delivering against defined objectives.
* Experience working with payers, commissioning bodies, and budget holding pharmacists is essential.
* Strong analytical capability, attention to detail, and the ability to translate data into actionable insight are important for success in this role.
* Excellent communication and relationship building skills are required, with confidence engaging stakeholders at varying levels of seniority.
* ABPI certification and a full UK driving licence are essential.
