Job Summary
Pharmacist for Primary Care team at HMP Stafford, a Category C Prison. Capacity 741 male inmates. Team of 7, in healthcare department. Must be able to prescribe.
Key Information
* Hours: Monday–Friday, 22.5 hours per week, 3 days per week, 8am–4pm.
* Salary: £51,643–£57,955 per annum, depending on experience.
Responsibilities
* Provide expert clinical advice on medicines and poly‑pharmacy in line with expected standards.
* Deliver an integrated, safe, legal and high‑quality prison pharmacy service within the comprehensive healthcare package.
* Inspire positive leadership for pharmacy technicians and the wider healthcare team to create a good working environment and retain staff.
* Promote good practice in prescribing decisions and implement improved medicines management understanding throughout the team.
* Share information on pharmaceutical products, medicines management, optimisation, legislation, and general health education with patients and teams.
Qualifications & Experience
* GPhC registered Pharmacist.
* Management and leadership experience (desirable).
* Procurement and audit experience (desirable).
* Vocational Masters Degree in Pharmacy including pre‑registration training.
* Experience developing effective working relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
* Experience in hospital, community or prison environment (preferred).
