5-Axis CNC Programmer — Hypermill / Hurco | Milton Keynes
We are seeking an experienced CNC Programmer with Hypermill and 5-axis programming experience for a well-established subcontract precision engineering business in Milton Keynes. Work in a modern, well-equipped facility with a varied workload and current kit.
Responsibilities
* Offline programming of 5-axis and 3-axis components using Hypermill (Open Mind)
* Work from customer CAD models and engineering drawings to produce efficient, optimised toolpaths
* Set up and prove out programs on Hurco machining centres
* Collaborate with the shop floor team to refine programs and improve cycle times
* Manage your own workload across a varied mix of subcontract components
* Maintain high standards of quality and first-off accuracy throughout
Qualifications
* Proven experience programming with Hypermill (Open Mind) — essential
* Strong 5-axis programming capability; 3+2 and simultaneous experiences both valued
* Familiarity with Hurco controls is a distinct advantage
* Ability to read and interpret complex engineering drawings and 3D CAD models
* A methodical, quality-first approach to programming and proving out
* Subcontract machining background preferred — comfortable working across different component types and materials
