Job Summary
This post presents an opportunity to contribute to the new Haemato-oncology service created by the integration of haemato-oncology services from Royal Liverpool Hospital and Aintree University Hospitals (now LUHFT) with Clatterbridge Cancer Centre. The post includes the following key remits:
* Contribute to the delivery of haemato-oncology (with focus on Myeloma) in CCCL and outpatient and consultative haemato-oncology at the Aintree site of LUHFT.
* Lead on clinical trials and research.
* Contribute to a high-quality, sustainable, integrated haemato-oncology service across CCCL and Aintree sites.
The Consultant post offers opportunities for career development, teaching, research, and innovation in myeloma. It is based mainly at the Clatterbridge Cancer Centre site with sessions at the Aintree hospital site and on-call work at CCCL. The notional job plan includes 10 programmed activities with 0.5 PA for predictable on-call.
Main duties
Clinical duties will include outpatient and inpatient clinical work in CCCL, in-reach and consultative work for the Aintree LUHFT site (one day a week), and participation in a shared on-call commitment covering CCCL. Formal laboratory sessions may be included depending on applicant interest.
On-call rota: Consultant Haemato-oncology on-call, based at CCCL; SpR operates a first on-call system. On-call commitment approximately 1 in 10.

Qualifications
Essential
* Full and Specialist registration (and licence to practise) with the General Medical Council (GMC), or eligibility for registration within six months of interview via CCT/CESR/Article 14
* Evidence of equivalence to UK CCT for non-UK trained applicants
* FRCPath or equivalent
* MRCP or equivalent
Desirable
* Higher degree (PhD or MD) by postgraduate thesis
* Relevant Certificate in communication
* Experience in a centre delivering CAR-T

* Experience of clinical and laboratory haematology
* Expertise in diagnosing haematological malignancy
* Experience of clinical audit

* Ability to teach all grades of clinical and laboratory staff, including trainees
