Permanent, 37 hours, £37,500 per annum
Turn data into insight. Insight into impact.
Are you passionate about transforming data into clear, actionable insight that improves services and supports better decision‑making?
Whether you’re an early‑career data professional or a recent graduate looking to apply and develop your skills in a real‑world environment, Ocean Housing Ltd is seeking an ICT Data Analyst to play a key role in strengthening how we manage, analyse and use data across the organisation.
This is an opportunity to join a purpose‑driven housing provider where your work will directly support regulatory compliance, transparency, operational effectiveness and better outcomes for our customers and communities.
💼 About the Role
As an ICT Data Analyst, you’ll ensure operational data is accurate, validated, auditable, and accessible, enabling colleagues to confidently analyse trends, meet regulatory requirements, and make evidence‑based decisions. You’ll design insightful reports, dashboards, and visualisations that bring complex data to life and support both strategic and day‑to‑day operations. This is a practical, hands‑on role that offers the opportunity to build confidence and experience applying analytical techniques in a live organisational setting
You will work closely with teams across the business, developing into a trusted data partner who translates business questions into meaningful analytical outputs. Strong data governance, data quality improvement and continuous development of reporting capability will be central to this role.
This role will make extensive use of Power BI, including DAX for data modelling and advanced calculations.
🔑 Key Responsibilities
* Validate, cleanse, and prepare datasets to maintain high standards of data quality and integrity
* Analyse historical and operational data to identify trends and actionable insights
* Design and deliver clear reports, dashboards, and visualisations (e.g. using Power BI including DAX)
* Apply data governance frameworks and highlight data quality issues for resolution
* Support compliance, transparency, and robust organisational governance
* Collaborate with stakeholders to understand requirements and improve data-driven decision making
* Maintain accurate documentation and contribute to wider ICT team activities when required
👤 About You
You’re analytical, curious, and detail‑driven, with the confidence to turn numbers into meaningful stories. You enjoy working collaboratively and explaining data insights in a way that non‑technical audiences can easily understand.
This role would suit someone who:
* Has practical experience working with business data (through employment, placement, internship, graduate role or equivalent experience)
* Is looking to build confidence in data quality, reporting and stakeholder engagement within a live organisational environment
* Values structured working practices, governance and accuracy
* Is comfortable working on site initially to build strong foundations and working relationships across the organisation
You’ll bring:
* A Level 4 qualification in Data Science, Statistics, Computer Science, or a related discipline
* Strong SQL skills and advanced Excel expertise
* Experience creating reports and dashboards, ideally using Power BI
* A solid understanding of data validation, reporting, and statistical concepts
* Excellent communication, organisation, and problem‑solving skills
* A proactive approach, with a passion for continuous professional development
Experience with scripting languages (such as Python or R), data governance standards, or working in the social housing sector would be an advantage—but not essential.
🌱 Support and Development
The postholder will receive structured support during their initial period, including mentoring, access to organisational data standards, governance frameworks and reporting tools.
This role is well suited to an analyst looking to build confidence, credibility and sector experience in a supportive environment where learning is encouraged and analytical capability is actively developed.
