Dialectical Behaviour Therapy Practitioner (RMN, OT, CAP, SW)
South West London and St Georges Mental Health NHS Trust
An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Dialectical Behaviour Therapy Practitioner in our Richmond Integrated Recovery Hub service. We are looking for experienced staff with a core profession in mental health who have a passion for working with people with this diagnosis. The post is available to nurses, occupational therapists, social workers, and qualified clinical associates in psychology. The primary role is to work alongside other staff to deliver DBT skills groups for people with a diagnosis of EUPD. You will receive training in the delivery of DBT skills groups and have the opportunity to co-facilitate these groups with a more experienced practitioner to support your learning. We aspire to offer patients a choice of either an in-person group or online, and DBT practitioners will be required to deliver both.
Main duties of the job
This post supports delivery of our Complex Emotional Needs pathway, offered to people who meet criteria for a diagnosis of Emotionally Unstable Personality Disorder (EUPD) who are accessing care within adult community mental health services. One of the treatment offers within this pathway is a 6-month Dialectical Behaviour Therapy skills-only group (with telephone coaching).
You will be reviewing referrals for DBT skills groups, conducting assessments and pre-treatment commitment sessions for this intervention, and co-facilitating DBT skills groups which may be in-person or online. You will also provide telephone coaching to members of the DBT skills groups.
Regular supervision will be provided by a principal clinical psychologist as well as regular attendance at a DBT consultation meeting.
In this role, you will be able to work Monday to Friday in the time frames from 08:00 to 18:00, giving you the very best work-life balance.
