Admin and Bookings Assistant
Rivers Hospital – Sawbridgeworth
25 hours per work - Part time

The role:
We are looking for an experienced Administrative Assistant to join our Inpatient Bookings at Rivers Hospital, based in Sawbridgeworth. As an Admin and Bookings Clerk you will work as part of the Inpatient Bookings, to support with bookings and enquiries. This is a busy role liaising with patients, consultants and all hospital departments. We need an individual with a professional approach, excellent verbal communication skills, initiative and the ability to work within a team. You must be computer literate – experience with Word and Outlook being essential. Previous use of an Electronic Patient Record system would be an advantage.
Responsibilities:
1. Liaising with patients by phone & letter
2. Booking appointments
3. Liaising with consultants and their secretaries
4. Managing a Central inbox and actioning queries accordingly
5. Pre-authorisation for insured patients - contacting patient's insurance companies for pre-authorisation
6. Ensure worklists are managed in a timely manner
7. Ensuring timely completion of appointments onto EPR system
8. Scanning & auditing of patient information
9. Admin ad hoc

10. Excellent organisational skills
11. An excellent standard of computer literacy to include experience in Outlook
12. High degree of accuracy and attention to detail
13. Excellent communication skills – written and oral
14. Ability to work under pressure with set deadlines to process booking appointments
15. The ability to work within a team
16. The ability to time-manage
17. Experience using a Patient Administration System (PAS) would be an advantage
