SEN Teaching Assistant | Hertfordshire | ASAP Start | £82.14-£100 per day
Reeson Education is working with a welcoming primary school in Broxbourne, Hertfordshire to find a dedicated SEN Teaching Assistant. This SEN Teaching Assistant role is perfect for someone passionate about supporting children with additional needs across the local area including Hoddesdon and surrounding communities.
The Role: As a SEN Teaching Assistant, you'll work closely with pupils who have a range of special educational needs, including ASD, ADHD, SEMH, and Speech & Language difficulties. This SEN Teaching Assistant position involves supporting children on a 1:1 basis and in small groups, helping them access the curriculum and thrive in their learning environment.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Supporting pupils with SEN across EYFS to KS2
2. Delivering tailored interventions and strategies for children with EHCP plans
3. Working collaboratively with teachers and the SENCO
4. Building positive relationships with pupils and promoting their social and emotional development
5. Adapting resources and activities to meet individual learning needs
What We're Looking For:
6. Experience working with children with SEN in a school or educational setting
7. A patient, nurturing approach with strong behaviour management skills
8. Knowledge of strategies for supporting ASD, ADHD, SEMH, or Speech & Language needs
9. Enhanced DBS on the update service (or willingness to apply)
10. Desirable: Training in PECS, Makaton, or sensory strategies
