Grade A Recruitment is seeking a dedicated Teacher of Computing to join a fantastic secondary school for a September 2025 start! This is an excellent opportunity for a confident personality to shape young minds in the vital and rapidly evolving field of computing.

This is a permanent, full-time role teaching computing to students aged 11-16 (Key Stage 3 and Key Stage 4, including GCSE). We’re looking for someone who can ignite a passion for computational thinking, programming, and digital literacy.

About The Role:

As a Teacher of Computing, you’ll be responsible for planning and delivering engaging and high-quality computing lessons. You’ll foster a stimulating learning environment where students can develop essential computational skills, creativity, and problem-solving abilities, preparing them for future academic and professional success in a digital world. Your confident and dynamic approach will be key to inspiring students.

Responsibilities:

1. Plan, prepare, and deliver inspiring Computing lessons to students aged 11-16 across Key Stage 3 and Key Stage 4 (GCSE).
2. Assess, monitor, record, and report on student progress, providing constructive feedback to support their development.
3. Create a positive, inclusive, and stimulating classroom environment that encourages active participation and critical thinking.
4. Contribute to the ongoing development of the Computing curriculum and departmental initiatives.
5. Participate in departmental meetings, school events, and continuous professional development opportunities.
6. Build strong relationships with students, colleagues, and parents to support student well-being and achievement.

Requirements:

7. Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) in the UK is essential. A relevant degree in Computer Science, Computing, or a closely related subject.
8. Proven experience teaching Computing across Key Stage 3 and Key Stage 4 (GCSE) in a UK secondary school.
9. A confident and engaging personality with excellent classroom management skills and the ability to inspire and motivate students of all abilities.
10. A genuine passion for Computing and a desire to foster computational thinking and digital literacy in young people.
11. Outstanding communication, interpersonal, and organisational skills.
12. Commitment to continuous professional development and contributing to the wider school community.
13. An enhanced DBS on the Update Service, or willingness to apply for one.
