The Regional Training Leader is a senior leader accountable for executing and reinforcing globally defined training strategy, standards, and operating models across a designated geographic region, with a primary focus on Europe and the Middle East. Operating within a centrally governed global training framework, this role ensures regional training delivery excellence is aligned with enterprise strategy, global quality benchmarks, applicable regulatory requirements, and customer airline expectations.
Reporting into a globally centralized training leadership structure, the Regional Training Leader plays a dual role: regional execution leader (supporting Sales, Business Development and Operations) and steward of global training standards. The incumbent translates global priorities, policies, and performance expectations into consistent, high‑quality execution across European and Middle Eastern training centres, while actively contributing to the development, continuous improvement, and global adoption of centralized training delivery standards.
The role provides strong people leadership to regional training teams and serves as a key partner to EMEA Sales and Operations, supporting growth objectives, customer engagements, and operational readiness through reliable, scalable training solutions. In collaboration with Sales, the Regional Training Leader ensures training capabilities, capacity, and product offerings are clearly articulated, competitively positioned, and aligned with customer and market needs. In parallel, close partnership with EMEA Operations leadership ensures training delivery is fully integrated with operational efficiency and centre performance.
As part of the global leadership cascade, the Regional Training Leader ensures centralized training principles are consistently embedded, measured, and sustained across all centres, while allowing for appropriate regional adaptation where required by regulation or customer context. This includes embedding global training delivery practices such as effective facilitation, facilitative debriefing, root cause analysis, resilience development, and ICAO’s 9 competencies framework.
Through this combination of global standards ownership and regional execution leadership, the role ensures consistent training outcomes, instructor behaviors, and learner experience across all European and Middle Eastern centres, reinforcing a unified global training system while enabling regional excellence.
Critical responsibilities:
Regional Strategy Execution: Implement global training strategies at the regional level, adapting them to local market needs and regulatory frameworks.
Organizational Efficiency: Greater synergy with operations to optimize training delivery costs through systems, regulatory strategy and Customer support optimizing resource utilization and process improvements.
Continuous Improvement: Continuously planning and improving the training experience at CAE globally. Addressing and forecasting business and Customer needs, effective deployment and adoption of next-generation training technologies and pedagogical frameworks. Assurance of consistent delivery of training outcomes across all international training centers, ensuring uniformity in quality and learner experience.
Capture lessons learnt from training delivery, integrate customer feedback, and embed continuous improvement cycles into daily operations.
Customer Collaboration and Experience Enhancement: Actively supports customer‑facing sales and operational meetings to ensure training solutions are clearly understood, appropriately positioned, and aligned with customer expectations. Deepens strategic engagement with customers by systematically incorporating their feedback into training program design, co‑developing tailored yet sustainable learning solutions, and proactively addressing evolving operational and regulatory needs. This collaborative approach ensures training commitments made during commercial and operational discussions are realistic, deliverable, and scalable—resulting in measurable improvements in customer satisfaction, retention, and training outcomes.
Global Instructor Mentorship & Assurance: Leads and is ultimately accountable for the local adoption, governance, and sustained application of globally centralized Civil Aviation training standards. This role establishes the strategic direction, oversight, and performance expectations for how global standards procedures are planned, scheduled, monitored, and continuously improved across the region. By empowering and guiding standards and training teams, the leader ensures consistent interpretation and execution of global requirements, forming the foundation for reliable training delivery, regulatory confidence, and customer trust across all operations.
Qualifications and Core Competencies:
Licenses and Certifications
Airline Transport Pilot (ATP) certificate or equivalent.
Type ratings on relevant aircraft (especially for business or commercial aviation).
Instructor certifications (e.g., Certified Flight Instructor – CFI, Ground Instructor, or equivalent).
Familiarity with FAA, EASA, and other global regulatory training standards.
