Are you a passionate Science Teacher looking to make a profound impact in a specialist setting? The Supply Register is proud to partner with TGA Redditch to recruit a dedicated Science Teacher for Treetops, their bespoke and 'exceptional' enhanced mainstream autism base. This is a 1 year Maternity cover starting in May.
About Treetops
Treetops is a self-contained, specialist provision located on the Redditch site, specifically designed for students with Austim (ASC) and an EHCP. It offers a nurturing, low-sensory environment where students follow the mainstream curriculim in small, personalised classes. Recent success includes students achieving top GCSE grades in Science Maths.
The Role
As the Science Teacher within Treetops you will:
Deliver the Mainstream Curriculum: Teach Science across Key Stages 3 and 4, adapting the National Curriculum to meet the unique sensory and learning needs of autistic students.
Foster Independence: Use autism-informed strategies to support communication, emotional regulation, and academic progress.
Collaborate for Success: Work closely with the main school’s Science department and a specialist team of TAs and Thrive practitioners
Create a Safe Space: Maintain a structured, predictable, and supportive classroom environment where every student feels safe to learn.
What We Are Looking For
Qualified Teacher Status (QTS): Essential for this role.
Science Expertise: Strong subject knowledge with the ability to teach up to GCSE level.
SEN Passion: Experience with autism (ASC) is highly desirable, but a patient, adaptable, and resilient approach is vital.
Commitment: A teacher prepared to "go the extra mile" to enable every student to reach their full potential.
