Roles that require PVG Membership
Please note that from 1 April 2023, roles requiring PVG membership will require candidates to cover the cost, which applies only to roles with a full-time equivalent salary of £30,000 and above (currently £30,285 per annum / £16.64 per hour), including teaching roles and jobs at Grade 11 and above.
The Council will initially pay for the PVG membership cost (£18 for existing PVG scheme members, £59 for non-members), which will be deducted from the employee’s first full month’s salary.
Job purpose/about the role
To promote effective learning, teaching, personal development, and an atmosphere where pupils can achieve their potential under supervision and guidance.
Post starting 18th August 2025.
Minimum requirements:
PVG membership for regulated work with children and/or protected adults, or willingness to obtain prior to employment.
Candidate qualities:
* Proven oral communication, literacy, and numeracy skills
* Empathy, patience, and tolerance with positive responses to additional support needs
* Ability to establish positive relationships with others
