We have opportunities for a Fixed Term Business Support Officer (Recycling Advisor) to join the team at Hitchcocks Business Park, Willand our established waste and recycling depot for an immediate start

As a Recycling Advisor, your duties will include but are not limited to:
* Work with our collection crews and residents to ensure they are using our recycling schemes correctly and promote all aspects of sustainable waste management
* To assist in promoting and implementing the Council’s Waste Strategy.
* To manage the promotion of waste minimisation and recycling through educating residents and businesses to manage its household rubbish in an environmentally-responsible manner and providing advice on waste issues
* To work with colleagues in the development of promotional materials and to participate in activities, campaigns and events to increase awareness of waste minimisation and recycling
* To receive, prioritise and deal with requests in relation to Street Scene services and procedures including the recording and management of a case through to completion.
* To act as a specialised point of contact for members of the public, customers, businesses and stakeholders, aiming to resolve the majority of enquiries at first point of contact. This includes dealing with customers who contact by telephone, in writing, e-mail, internally, externally or online.
* To maintain databases, spreadsheets and filing systems (electronic and paper) and to provide accurate reports including statistical information as required. To record all transactions on supporting workflow programs as per procedures. To maintain a level of competence in the use of new technology and programs and to help develop new systems as required.

* Able to work well as part of a team with a flexible approach to work and positive attitude towards delivering services to the community
* Have good organisational skills
* Able to communicate to a broad range of people
* Not afraid to give instructions
* Literate and numerate and be capable of working on their own initiative
* Good computer skills are required for this post
* Flexible as to start and finish times to deal with the diversity of the role
* Able to drive and meet the community
