We are looking for a Process Engineer to work on a permanent basis near Ashton Under Lyne.
Salary is c£35-40,000 per annum plus 25 days’ holiday and bank holidays, pension etc.
Brief duties of the role:
1. Overseeing aluminium heat treatment and material testing processes and compliance
2. Ability to read / understand aerospace drawings and specifications
3. NADCAP heat treatment experience
4. Sheet metal manufacturing
Duties for the Process Engineer:
5. Process auditing Carry out a month audit against the NADCAP pre-audit check sheetsIdentify any issues / implement corrective actionsEnsure compliance ahead of the annual NADCAP auditWork closely with the Quality Manager to prepare for the NADCAP auditHost the NADCAP auditRespond to any NADCAP audit NCRs
6. Processing parts: Using the WTL / AOG tracker, ensure that the team process parts on timeEnsure that the team understand the process specifications and that all parts are processed or tested correctlyMaintain operator training records / stamp scopes are kept up to dateCreate, maintain SOPs for each process
7. Equipment / plant capability Working with the HDL QE – ensure that all plant / testing equipment remains calibratedWorking with Vectar / other – ensure that all plant is maintainedOversee the weekly TUS / SAT checksEnsure that test pieces are sent to AMPP monthlyUpdate the TPM documents and ensure that daily / weekly checks are completed on timeSign off 5S checks for the cell/sSchedule regular plant cleaning emptying of the quench pit)
8. Employee training Provide inductions and training for existing or new employeesUpdate / maintain training records and matrixIdentify where further training is required and facilitate
9. Other/ad-hoc: Identify CI / efficiency opportunitiesDevelop a technical understanding of the HT database, cleansing / auditing as neededAct as the ‘go to’ person for all technical queries
