Role overview
As part of the ABM Cleaning Team you will benefit from full uniform with an annual refresh, access to Perkbox employee benefit scheme (including discounted e-vouchers for most retailers, gyms, holidays and car rentals), and an Employee Assistance Programme with 24/7 support. This position is for a Cleaner working 16 hours per week, Saturday & Sunday 8am – 5pm. 28 days annual leave including Public Holidays (pro rata for part time).
Online E-Learning is readily available to support our comprehensive Learning & Development programmes. Full training and induction are provided for all colleagues with a team-focused approach.
Responsibilities
* Maintain the high standards at Gyle Shopping Centre and be proactive in addressing issues in entrances, mall, toilets and back of house areas.
* Assist customers and retailers when required.
* Assist in emergency situations.
* Provide additional resource in the Food Court.
* Attend to cleaning duties and other reasonable tasks within the shopping centre as directed by ABM supervisors and managers.
* Be flexible and responsive to changing daily priorities.
* Be knowledgeable of all cleaning-related tasks to support current scheduled activity at shift start.
* Be familiar with the building layout to service required areas.
* Prioritise jobs according to urgency and maintain quality within time allocations, planning around periodic tasks.
* Escalate issues to ABM supervisors and managers.
* Ensure the work area is clean, well maintained and equipment is secure.
* Communicate regularly with ABM supervisors and managers to obtain feedback on quality, service and care.
* Undertake training as necessary in line with role development.
* Achieve and demonstrate agreed standards of personal and professional development within agreed timescales.
Person Specification / Qualifications
* Availability as required, including weekends/public holidays depending on shift patterns.
* Promote a clean and safe working environment by following company policies and procedures.
* Attend and participate in meetings as required.
* Operate and manage workload effectively without supervision.
* Ensure health and safety procedures comply with legislation and company policy.
* Maintain professional standards of service, speed and quality assurance.
* Adhere to new policies and procedures to ensure a respectful workplace.
* Essential: Sound communication skills.
* 2 years cleaning experience.
* Demonstrate initiative in the absence of supervision and accept responsibility.
* Knowledge of safety regulations, building codes and other compliance policies.
* Perform duties in a manner that minimises incidents and accidents within the department.
* Availability throughout the designated shift.
