Clinical Academic Link Tutor for Faculty of Research and Clinical Education
Are you keen to join a multi-disciplinary team providing support within clinical areas to staff and students in pre-registration education, promoting evidence-based care and research practice? The Faculty of Research and Clinical Education at Walsall Healthcare NHS Trust is looking to recruit a Clinical Academic Link Tutor to support our students. Main duties of the job
The primary purpose of this role is to facilitate and promote nursing and clinical practice standards within the divisions and across the trust, ensuring the quality of placement learning for students at the University of Wolverhampton meets professional standards. Successful candidates will split their time equally between clinical practice (WHT) and university, fostering strong partnership working and bridging the theory-practice gap.

Walsall Healthcare NHS Trust is an integrated Trust and the sole provider of NHS acute care in Walsall, serving a population of 284,300. It offers inpatient and outpatient services at the Manor Hospital and various community services. The Manor Hospital provides a comprehensive range of hospital services under one roof. The £170 million development completed in 2010, with ongoing upgrades, includes facilities such as a Critical Care Unit, Neonatal Unit, Obstetric Theatre, and an Integrated Assessment Unit. The new Urgent and Emergency Care Centre, opened in March 2023, has significantly enhanced emergency care capacity and facilities, adding nearly 5,000 square metres of clinical space.
Job responsibilities
The post holder will assist the Research and Development Manager in ensuring clinical trials and research are delivered to high standards, efficiently, effectively, and in compliance with GCP and legislative requirements. They will serve as a point of contact and resource for research activities within clinical areas.

Person Specification
Qualifications
* NMC Registration
* Evidence of ongoing personal, professional, and academic development to degree or equivalent
* MSc or Level 7 qualification
* PGCE or teaching/training experience
* Research qualification or significant relevant experience
* Adult or Child NMC registration

* Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
* Ability to work independently within guidelines
* Experience working across different organisations, specialties, and clinical areas, supporting research and clinical skills development
* Ability to present learning using various approaches
* Ability to coordinate clinical research and professional development activities
