Role: Junior Sous Chef
We're hiring a Junior Sous Chef to support the Sous/Head Chef, lead a section, and help drive consistent rosette-level standards across prep and service.
Pay & Hours
* Up to £43,000 per year (depending on experience)
* 48 hours per week on a fair, rotating rota
* Staff meals, paid holiday & workplace pension (statutory)
Key Responsibilities — Junior Sous Chef
* Lead your section to spec: mise en place, cooking, tasting, and immaculate plating
* Support the Sous/Head Chef with service coordination and pass communication
* Coach CDPs/Commis; spot-train to lift standards in real time
* Maintain HACCP, allergen and food-safety compliance; keep stations pristine
* Assist with ordering, stock rotation, waste control, and prep lists
* Contribute ideas to specials/menu development (Eastern Med flavours, live-fire/grill)
* Cover the pass or additional sections when required
What You'll Bring
* Proven experience as a strong CDP or Junior Sous Chef in a quality or rosette kitchen
* Calm control under pressure, great communication, and eye for detail
* Sound knowledge of Mediterranean flavours (herbs, spice blends, tahini, citrus, grill/plancha)
* Organised, clean, and consistent; team player with a growth mindset
* Flexible for evenings/weekends; right to work in the UK
