We are looking for a Health & Safety Advisor/ Trainee to join our growing Health and Safety team. This is an excellent opportunity for someone seeking to build a long-term career in health and safety within the utilities sector, supported by structured training and clear progression opportunities.
Key Responsibilities
* Carry out regular site visits to operational teams, ensuring compliance with health and safety legislation, company policies, and industry standards
* Conduct site inspections, identifying hazards and supporting the implementation of corrective actions
* Assist in the review and development of risk assessments, method statements, and safe systems of work
* Support internal and external audits, including preparation and follow-up actions
* Work closely with operational management to promote and maintain a positive health and safety culture
* Maintain accurate records, reports, and health and safety documentation
* Support toolbox talks and site briefings
Desirable Skills & Experience
* Previous experience within gas mains replacement or the gas utilities sector (preferred)
* Basic understanding of health and safety principles
* Keen attitude toward learning and professional development
* Willingness to travel to sites across the South East and London
* Full UK driving licence
