SUMMARY
Under the supervision of the Director of Employee Relations, the Employee Relations Partner is responsible for coordinating trusted relationships with the HR Strategy and Operations team, Labor Relations, Centers for Excellence, leadership, and legal at Rochester Regional Health (RRH).
The Employee Relations Partner will provide consultation and guidance to management and team members on a variety of issues, such as performance management and policy interpretation, as well as conduct team member investigations and recommend appropriate actions.
The Employee Relations Partner has a thorough understanding of and ensures compliance with all applicable policies, laws, and regulations, and promotes a fair, respectful, and consistent treatment of team members aligned with the organization’s core business values and objectives.
RESPONSIBILITIES
* Conduct investigations of sensitive HR issues, including interviewing claimants, witnesses and accused team members; analyzing data from internal systems; and composing investigation reports.
* Propose remedial actions based on investigation findings and recommend appropriate actions to correct concerns while assessing risks and minimizing liability.
* Consult and collaborate with Senior Employee Relations Partners, Managers and Directors on employee relations matters.
* Provide coaching to unit supervisors and managers in carrying out their responsibilities regarding team member relations matters.
* Help maintain a positive work environment by facilitating discussions and providing consistent advice.
* Escalate issues and matters to the Director of Employee Relations with appropriate recommendations.
* Apply a continuous‑improvement mindset across the Employee Relations Partner function to identify and implement change.
* Participate in projects and programs of work as assigned, including maintaining entity‑specific or system‑wide policies, legal case management, preparing data from internal systems and creating presentations and reports on emerging topics or trends.
* Maintain reporting for various data sources related to ER metrics and review data to assess where action can simplify or streamline processes or train managers.
* Serve as a subject‑matter expert on employment laws and appropriately apply that knowledge to team member relation matters.
* Support other internal projects/initiatives as needed.
* Keep up‑to‑date with regulatory changes, communicate them, and implement within the team as appropriate.
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS
* Bachelor’s Degree required (Human Resources preferred) for candidates hired on or after 7/1/2024.
* Two years of progressive HR experience or five years of management, supervision, and high‑level project management experience in one or more HR functions, including employee relations or employee investigations.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
* PHR/SPHR or a similarly recognized HR certification.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS: Sedentary work – may require up to 10 pounds of force occasionally. The role involves sitting most of the time, but may also require walking or standing for brief periods. Sedentary work is defined as walking and standing being required only occasionally and all other common criteria are met.
PAY RANGE: $70,000.00 - $100,000.00
