Overview
We're looking for a hands-on Payroll Data Analyst to play a critical role in a complex HR and payroll transformation programme.
This is not a traditional reporting or MI role. You'll be responsible for owning the data workstream end-to-end, working across HR systems, payroll, and time & attendance data to ensure high-quality, accurate data is ready for system integration and testing.
You'll operate at the intersection of data, payroll, and systems, bringing structure to a complex environment and driving delivery.
What you'll be doing
* Define and shape the data strategy and approach for the programme
* Build and manage data plans aligned to project timelines and milestones
* Lead on data extraction, cleansing, transformation, and validation
* Ensure data readiness for key phases such as system integration and testing
* Work closely with HR, payroll, and system teams to understand data requirements
* Collaborate with external vendors on data mapping and integration outputs
* Identify data risks, issues, and inconsistencies — and drive resolution
* Bring clarity and structure to complex, fragmented datasets and processes
What we're looking for
Essential experience
* Proven experience in a data role within HR / Payroll / Workforce systems programmes
* Strong understanding of payroll data structures and processes
* Experience working on large-scale system implementations or transformations
* Hands-on experience with:
* Data extraction & cleansing
* Data mapping & validation
* Data preparation for testing / migration
