Criminal Justice Recovery Worker - Maidenhead
A Criminal Justice Recovery Worker is required to work on a temporary to permanent contract for a substance misuse charity based in Maidenhead.
The Criminal Justice Recovery Worker will be required on site from 9am to 5pm Monday to Friday, with an occasional late shift from 11am to 7pm on Tuesdays.
Responsibilities:
1. Carrying out thorough evaluations to identify each person's requirements, strengths, and risks related to criminal activity.
2. Developing and implementing individualized intervention plans focusing on risk reduction, rehabilitation, and reintegration in collaboration with service users.
3. Ensuring compliance with court orders, license conditions, and other legal requirements, while regularly submitting progress reports to relevant authorities.
4. Providing one-on-one support, advocacy, and mentorship to address underlying issues such as drug abuse, unstable housing, employment barriers, and social marginalization.
5. Leading workshops, educational sessions, and group programs on topics like life skills, anger management, and conflict resolution.
Experience Required:
1. Previous experience working with individuals at risk of offending or with a history of interaction with the criminal justice system, in probation services, criminal justice settings, or similar roles.
2. Knowledge of UK laws, regulations, and practices governing the criminal justice system.
3. Experience with risk assessment tools, evidence-based interventions, and criminological theories related to offender management.
4. Excellent negotiation, conflict resolution, and communication skills, with the ability to engage effectively with individuals from diverse backgrounds.
