Trade counter assistantDue to continued growth, Eglantine Timber is seeking a motivated and customer-focused Trade Counter Assistant to join our busy and friendly team in Whiteabbey.Established for over 40 years, Eglantine Timber is a well-known, family-run business supplying timber, fencing, decking, sheds, landscaping products and building materials to trade and retail customers across Northern Ireland.This is an excellent opportunity for someone who enjoys dealing with customers, working in a fast-paced environment, and being part of a hardworking team.The RoleAs a Trade Counter Assistant, you will be responsible for:Serving trade and retail customers in a professional and friendly mannerProviding product advice and helping customers select suitable materialsProcessing sales and handling payments through the till systemAnswering telephone and email enquiriesAssisting with stock control and merchandising displaysSupporting the yard and warehouse teams when requiredMaintaining a clean, organised and safe working environmentWhat Were Looking ForThe ideal candidate will have:Previous experience in a trade counter, builders merchant, retail or customer service roleGood communication and interpersonal skillsA positive attitude and willingness to learnStrong organisational skills and attention to detailAbility to work well as part of a teamBasic computer skillsExperience within timber, hardware, fencing, landscaping or building materials would be advantageous but is not essential, as full training will be provided for the right candidate.What We OfferCompetitive salary based on experienceFull-time permanent positionStaff discountOpportunities for training and developmentFriendly and supportive working environmentLong-established and respected local companyHoursFull-time 8.00am - 5.00pm mon - fri, including Saturday mornings 9am 12noon on a rota basis.To apply, please submit your CV via the apply now button belowWHJS1_NI
