Reporting into the South West Service Manager, the Generator Engineer will provide maintenance, installation, diagnosis, repair, and testing services across a range of diesel generator sets, switchgear, control systems, and associated equipment. Our support is carried out at clients' premises or Pharos sites.
Key responsibilities include:
* Carrying diagnostic, testing, and remedial works on generators, switchgear, and associated equipment, and support PPM where required to include Load banking.
* Electrical fault finding and repair
* Generator upgrades, including but not limited to Control panels
* Providing call-out cover for generator breakdowns on a rota system
* Carrying out client site visits and generating accurate and timely reports
* Projecting spares requirements for upcoming and planned works
* Team technical development, training, and mentoring
* Supporting operational tasks i.e: reporting, quotations, progress reports, customer enquiries etc
* Out of hours working
* On call service
Requirements:
* Minimum 5 years experience in the generator industry with a minimum of 2 years experience in standby power
* Proficient in the installation and operation of DSE/Comap
* Qualified electrical engineer i.e: NVQ Level 3 / HNC / HND in Electronic / Electrical
* Qualified to 18th Edition Electrical Regulations
* 2391/2 Inspect and Test
* Switchgear experience/qualification would be highly desirable
* Skilled in technical report writing with acute attention to detail
* A good network within the Generator field would be advantageous
* Full UK driving licence
