We are looking to strengthen our Operations team with an Assistant Electrical Authorising Engineer based at Thames Region.
You will report directly to the Senior Commissioning Manager andwill be the regional electrical H&S management focal point to maintain standards and compliance.
Key responsibilities will include:
1. Supporting the H&S team in matters of electrical safety.
2. Administration of the electrical safety rules. Maintenance of rules in line with legislative, regulatory or industry changes.
3. Providing professional and technical guidance on electrical construction & electrical contracting delivery.
4. Administers and monitors use of the LV Electrical Safety Rules.
5. Ensuring that any amendments to the LV Electrical Safety Rules are brought to the attention of, and are understood by, all Responsible Persons, and Authorised Persons.
6. Support the Interview, train, competence assess and appoint potential Authorised Persons.
7. Undertake Authorised Person audits.
8. Conducts the audit set out in the Institute of Engineering and Technology’s (IET) Code Of Practice for Electrical Safety Management annually or on significant change of the electrical management system.
9. Works with procurement staff to assist in the competence vetting of supply chain partners.
10. Involvement with key stakeholders for related Safe Systems of Work such as Hydraulics and ATEX/DSEAR.
11. Maintaining the identity and importance of the Electrical Safety Rules to the wider business. Electrical safety awareness training for PM’s and Construction Managers.
12. Attendance on MWH national Authorising Engineer review panels.
13. Working with our supply chains in areas of quality management and review and comment upon NICEIC and BS7671 model forms of certification.
14. Actively engage in commissioning quality.
15. Works in close alignment with the SHEQ team for incident investigations.
