Cyber Security Infrastructure Engineer – Arden University

Salary: £45,000 – £50,000 per annum
Hours: 37 per week
Remote working arrangement – little to no travel to Coventry office or campuses.
Role Overview
As a Cyber Security Infrastructure Engineer, you will be a member of the Information Security Team. Your responsibilities include implementing new cyber security controls, investigating and reporting breaches, compiling incident reports, and improving security measures across Arden University’s IT infrastructure.
Responsibilities
* Actively implement new cyber security controls into the university’s infrastructure.
* Investigate and report on attempted and actual breaches.
* Compile reports and data for incidents as they occur and throughout the incident management process.
* Enhance security measures, improve performance and ensure end‑user satisfaction within the IT infrastructure.
Qualifications
Essential:
* Significant practical experience in applying cyber security protection and detection technologies.
* Hands‑on experience monitoring, managing and updating MS Sentinel, MS Defender and working with SOC engineers.
* Strong IT skills and knowledge including hardware, software, networking infrastructure and cloud services.
* Experience with incident detection, incident response and forensics.
* Expert knowledge of security architecture, security tools, emerging technologies, security protocols, systems (anti‑virus, content filtering, authentication, device encryption) and technologies such as firewalls, EDR/XDR, DNS, VPN, MFA, DDoS mitigation, networking and wireless (e.g., Cisco Meraki).
Desirable:
* Recognised information security certifications (CISSP, CISM, Security+).
* Experience with DevOps practices including automation, CI & CD pipelines (e.g., Jenkins).
* Experience with AWS services (EC2, VPC, RDS, S3, CloudFront, Route 53, IAM, CloudWatch).
