Job Description The Chief Information Security Officer (CISO) will be the driving force behind shaping and delivering JET’s security strategy. In an increasingly complex threat landscape, you will safeguard our systems, data, and applications by embedding robust, risk-appropriate security practices across the business. With deep insight into threats, regulations, and business priorities, you will ensure our security capabilities both protect the organisation and enable it to thrive. Acting as a trusted advisor, you’ll engage with the CEO, Board, and senior leaders to promote a culture of security awareness, while also representing JET externally with customers, partners, and regulators. You will lead the development of global policies and standards, oversee security operations, and manage crisis situations with calm authority. Alongside protecting JET, you will also play a customer-facing role, supporting sales and consulting engagements and providing virtual CISO (vCISO) services to enterprise and public sector clients. By balancing business needs with security imperatives, you will position JET as a trusted, secure partner in an ever-changing digital environment! Location: Manchester Salary: Negotiable depend on experience Hours: Monday to Friday, 9:00 AM – 5:30 PM (37.5 hours per week) In order to be considered, you must have the following experience; Experienced in leading security strategy, operations, and programs across complex organizations. Adaptability to address situations where critical thinking abilities are paramount in identification of goals, tasks, and their respective priorities Skilled in assessing and mitigating security risks and knowledgeable in relevant frameworks and regulations (ISO27001, CIS, PCI DSS, GDPR, etc.). Experienced in leading security incidents, breaches, and system outages, staying calm and effective under pressure. Able to communicate complex security concepts to executives, boards, and external partners, building consensus and trust. Confident in client-facing scenarios, able to clearly articulate the organisation’s security posture. Experienced in acting as a trusted security advisor (e.g., vCISO) and supporting client engagements. Skilled in developing and implementing security strategies, policies, and standards to strengthen organizational resilience. Hands-on in implementing controls, audits, vulnerability assessments, and responding to emerging threats. Collaborative, adaptable, high integrity, and able to lead teams while fostering a culture of security awareness. Ability to assess and remediate security risks during mergers, acquisitions, or divestitures. Skilled in supporting RFPs, solution design, and customer presentations, translating security expertise into business value. We'd also love you to bring; Able to translate complex security concepts into clear, actionable insights that build trust with executives, boards, and clients.
