NHS England, working in the Midlands, is seeking to recruit a Training Programme Director (TPD) for Emergency Medicine - Ultrasound on a part-time secondment basis.
As Training Programme Director, you will be responsible for coordinating training across the region, ensuring that national standards set by Royal Colleges, the GMC, and NHS-E WT&E are implemented locally. Applicants must currently work within the East Midlands at the consultant level or equivalent, including SAS doctors in the specialty school area. Experience at this level and substantial experience working with learners or doctors in training in an educational setting are essential.
A flat rate of £10,000 per PA, per year (or pro rata as necessary) will be paid to a Trust for successful candidates appointed to TPD roles. This contribution is towards the overall cost and does not reflect the individual’s pay.
The Training Programme Director reports professionally and managerially to the Head of School. The role focuses on improving learner supervision, assessment, engagement of faculty, and ensuring effective educational outcomes. It also involves whole workforce transformation and developing multi-professional links.
Training Programme Directors work across health and social care sectors within a team, reflecting changing service models to deliver an integrated workforce from diverse professional backgrounds.
The post is offered on a secondment basis. Candidates must secure written agreement from their employer for release from clinical duties for the specified PAs.
