Job Summary
We are seeking an experienced and dynamic Sous Chef to join our professional culinary team. The successful candidate will assist the Head Chef in overseeing kitchen operations, ensuring the delivery of high-quality dishes, and maintaining exceptional food safety standards. Responsibilities
* Assist the Owner/Pitmaster in planning and executing daily kitchen operations, ensuring smooth workflow and timely service
* Oversee food preparation and cooking processes to ensure consistency, quality, and presentation standards are met
* Maintain strict adherence to food safety regulations and hygiene standards across all kitchen activities
* Monitor inventory levels, order supplies, and manage stock rotation to minimise waste
* Collaborate with the team to develop new menu items and improve existing dishes
* Ensure all dishes are prepared in accordance with company recipes and specifications
* Support serving staff during busy periods to ensure excellent customer service
* Uphold a positive work environment that promotes teamwork, professionalism, and continuous improvement
Qualifications
* Proven supervising experience within a busy kitchen environment
* Strong background in food production, food preparation, and cooking techniques
* Extensive kitchen experience with a solid understanding of culinary practices and standards
* Demonstrated team management skills with the ability to lead by example
* Knowledge of food safety regulations and best practices in hygiene management
* Experience working in hospitality or restaurant settings is highly desirable
* Excellent organisational skills with the ability to multitask effectively under pressure
* Passion for culinary arts with a commitment to delivering exceptional dining experiences
* Previous experience in serving or front-of-house roles is advantageous but not essential
