Your new company Our client, a long-standing business in Stockport is offering a rare part-time opportunity due to retirement for a personable and hands-on Purchase Ledger / Accounts Assistant to become a valued member of their accounts team. Your new roleResponsible for the efficient processing and control of supplier and customer accounts, ensuring all transactions are accurately recorded, suppliers are paid on time, and customer queries are handled promptly. Process and log all purchase invoices, ensuring correct matching to purchase orders and resolving discrepancies. Maintain timely payment of suppliers, managing monthly payment schedules and foreign currency requirements. Allocate all payments, receipts, journals and bank transactions including monthly bank reconciliations. Act as first point of contact for supplier, customer and internal finance queries, including pro forma invoices, credit limits, stopped accounts Maintain supplier and customer master data, including setting up new accounts, processing credit applications and liaising with insurers. Process improvements where neccessary - stream line processes Monitor shared accounts mailbox and accounts phone, resolving or escalating queries as appropriate. Support credit control activities adhoc when required/holiday cover, including issuing monthly customer statements and managing overdue accounts. Ensure all supplier payments and periodic credit notes are processed accurately and on time.
